The WCSA book awards recognize and celebrate exemplary new work that provides insightful and engaging representations of working class life and culture, highlighting working class voices, experiences, and perspectives.
The Tillie Olsen Award for Creative Writing is for published books of poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, and other creative genres.
In choosing my novel, the judges said they “were very impressed with the strength and nuance of my working-class women characters in particular, and that they appreciated the 'raw and affecting' tone which delivered real impact."
The Tillie Olsen Award and plaque were presented on June 19, 2026 at the WCSA conference in Laramie, Wyoming.
